Turns out my son has basketball games Saturday and Sunday, so at least he probably won't be there. Thanks for the offer though, Gallo.

Ok guys, looks like I can definitely make it. Im trying to decide if I should come up on Friday or Saturday morning. What time do people get up there on Friday usually? Is there going to be a community meal that I should bring something for?
I am still up in the air. My daughter has a VB tourney on Sunday that I can't miss. Still waiting on game times. If she plays Sunday AM, I wont be able to make it. Sunday afternoon, and I should be able to come up. Truthfully, I might come up and just spend the day Saturday. Give me a chance to meet some of you and check out your rigs. I went solo camping last week when it got down to 15 degrees, and I stayed really warm. My only issue will be that my gear is unbelievable bulky. If the path that runs along the river is fairly smooth, I have a portable wagon I use for sporting events that I can use to get my gear over.
If I am reading a map correctly, it looks like there is plenty of parking on what is labeled "Moose Island" by Channahon. From there, take the trail south and west. Looks like there is a little bridge once you get to McKinley woods that leads to a circular parking area. I assume that those parking areas at McKinley woods are the ones you cannot get to because of the locked gate?
I'm in! I'll provide Saturday Morning's Breakfast for everyone. Can we add a poll or something to see how many are going for a head count?
Is anyone driving in from chicago that could give me a lift. I would be interested in coming down for one day or a night only (depending on how cold it gets) but would need a ride. If so PM me. If it's too cold then when weather is more compatible with my 3 season gear then I'm in for the next one. Thanks!
Btw sat morning breakfast is breakfast burritos with egg, sausage, green pepper, cheese, and a little hot sauce so tell me if that doesn't work for you
Looks like the weather will improve for next weekend. We shall see. I plan on being there on Saturday, but it is possible work will get in the way.
Gallo, I've got to give your hammock another try before ordering my new one. There are questions about options and size that I didn't pay attention to last time.
