    Hey from Clemson University!

    Hey!
I'm a beginner and i want to get started into hammock camping/backpacking! Unfortunatly my mother bought me the ENO Doublenest... not an HH..
I also own the Mountain Hardware Lamina 45 and a Nalgene water bottle. I plan to purchase the Boreas Lost Coast 60. I've been told its easier to start out ultralight instead of spending more money later Well if you have any comments leave'em

Hey from down near Columbia. Born and raised a Clemson fan, but I go to USC so I can't rightly root for the Tigers any more without feeling like I'm wasting my tuition!

I saw in another thread that you're 15 years old, and I think it's great that you're getting an early start on your way to the great outdoors. The ENO Doublenest is a good hammock in my opinion - it was my first one and it served me well. For ultralight information, you might want to pay attention to Bonefire Gear up in Traveler's Rest near Greenville, SC. The owner goes by Brother Bones and he's hands down one of the friendliest and most knowledgeable guys in the state that I know of - I'm sure he'd be glad to help you on your way to ultralight.

In the meantime, enjoy that ENO as long as you have it (I know I still enjoy mine) and hopefully we'll get to see you out in the woods before too long!
I used to be a somebody, now I just camp.

Welcome from a Clemson alum in Nashville, Tennessee! I have a HH and an ENO Doublenest (actually bought for my wife). The ENO is great when it's not buggy, then you really need something with a bug net.

Great to have you on HH! Go Tigers!

P.S. Gresh is wasting his tuition! LOL

Congratulations! Clemson '92. Im in Lexington SC now. Love camping up there especially the Burrells Ford area on the Foothills Trail. For cooking on your hammock trips look at the homemade or commercial alcohol stoves. Ramen noodles are ultralight.
