    CAMO TARP (Stealth)

What is the lightest (under 10z) hammock tarp that either comes in camo or can be customed to be in a camo pattern.

I really liked the hammock covers Attroll (?) made in the marine digital camo pattern. Are there any DIY instructions for a hex tarp (a la MacCat)?
Where could I find a lightweight material with a camo pattern? Would I have better luck getting the pattern printed on a fabric after-the-fact?

How well would a pattern print to Cuben or Spinn types?

I emailed the OES dude a few times but got no response.
Would anyone with experience be willing to make something like this for me?
I have no sewing skills whatsoever but know someone who is a costume designer that could probably do pretty well making it with some instructions.

It's not that you don't have sewing experience. Give me a break..

None of us had sewing exoperience before the first time we sat down at the beast. The Black Cat is a very popular DIY pattern which I and many others have used successfully.

Come on dude... grab your mom's thread injector and boot up the "We Don't Sew... " vids. I know others have over come their anxieties by using that resource. Even if I say so myself.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

Brian's school is starting back up, and he took a short vacation before he had to go back. Have patience, and give him a chance to reply. You will not be sorry if you wait. He is a great guy, and does great work.

I live across the country from my mama!
I really don't want to ruin the expensive fabric or even waste my time (I don't have an abundance of it) when there is someone that can do it a whole lot better. Don't want to discover my mistakes during a windstorm on a mountain.

Thanks for the info, fin. Not sure if this had anything to do with the lack of response, the emails I sent were 3+ weeks ago.

I married a costumer. I've not met one yet that did not have a multitude of thread injectors. But I know costumers... you ask for too much help and they sit you down and say.. "It's about time you learn to do this yourself."

By the time you get to the actual making of the tarp you'll know all you need to know to do a great job. You start the process with old bedsheets or something cheap and work up to the expensive fabric.

I would also be interested in a flat olive drab type color.

Well, this particular costume designer is unemployed and would probably jump at the opportunity to make a few bucks if I provided her the materials, showed her the DIY info and explained what I wanted. ;-)

I stumbled across a post that had a link to a good place to buy 1.1oz/yd nylon and other fabrics but can't seem to find it.
Anyone know of good resources to buy fabrics?

Your on your own for lightweight camo. Man I should manufacture this. But for instructions you are in luck.

His email server has issues sometimes. DNS problems, i think - we have issues at times with certain companies at my work who use TDS to host their email. It has to do with the way they update their mx records. I know he has not received emails in the past. PM him through here, and he will get the message.
