Made it back safe and sound around 8 last night. I had a great time, it was nice to see everyone and meet some new people.

I'm glad you made it back in one piece. It was good seeing you, glad you brought the Envy S. That is a sweet hammock. I love the Hammeck stands too. I'm going to have to tell KingsFord to start saving for my Christmas present. I heard a rumor you may come to the Umstead hang.

I'm going to see about it if I can make it but I'm not sure yet

As a NOOB I want to thank everyone for being so patient with my "name" game. Asking everyone to explain how they got their Hammock Forum name as we were sitting around the campfire really helped me to remember. Sunday morning I tested my memory (to myself) and I scored 100%.
I am already looking forward to the next hang.

It's definitely a worthwhile exercise. I'm bad with names unless I hear them at least twice.

I had a great time, even though my visit Saturday a.m. was short.
Just enough time to meet some new people, eat some good food and get in a death march aka hike in the Uwahrries.

As we all survived the hike, I don't thing we can call it a death march. At least you remembered to bring a hammock to relax in at the end of the hike while we were waiting for our rides.

There is a memorial marker a little ways southwest of where we camp. It doesn't state if he was shot or otherwise.

Gunner, that "death march" remark was referring to one of Paul's earlier strolls through the woods..sort of like the voyage of the "S.S. Minnow"

"... A three hour tour".. That cracks me up Groundhog.
We hiked one of the hardest trails that year (Dutchman) and it was the year with all the blow downs. Good lord you were crazy to follow me.
