AT Hangout: Dicks Creek Gap, GA to Deep Gap, NC

We had a pretty epic trip! Skipped out of work early for a weekend section hike along the Appalachian Trail for my buddy's (Ninja) B-day. 5 hangers and 2 ground dwellers (including the dog). We had a bit of rain but we didn't let that get our spirits down. Some good ups and downs. My other buddy (Inspector Gadget) let me borrow his GoPro, which provided excellent video with not so great sound (so you may have to crank up the sound). I added a bit of some tunes for your listening pleasure. I hope you enjoy my crazy music video!

Looked like a great trip even if I couldn't hear anything. Thanks for sharing the adventure, makes me want to go out and hit the trail.

Other than two of the shelters, I didn't recognize a thing despite having just done that same leg during a longer section hike in April. It sure looks different this time of year versus then. All the leaves on the ground really obscured the trail quite a bit.

Glad you enjoyed it despite the sound issue. Sorry it's tough to hear. If you max out the volume you should be able to hear a bit, at least the music. Hope you get out there soon.

The last time I did this section was nearly 12 years ago and in March. It rained then to so it was similar, but other than that I didn't remember much. We hiked from Deep Gap to Winding Stair Gap over the Summer and it definitely had a different feel to it. That's one reason I like hiking in different seasons especially winter.
