    Hello from New Zealand

Hello everyone from New Zealand. I am new to hammock camping, I just completed my first trip out 2 weeks ago and really enjoyed myself. I have not done any type of camping for quite a while, more than 10 years probably so this is my return to the wild
I have posted a video on my new youtube channel of the trip, it is nothing great and future efforts will be greatly improved (I hope)
A little about myself I guess, I am 48 and live in Napier New Zealand. Normally during the day I drive trucks delivering food around restaurants and cafes and then I have most weekends to myself. I am in the process of purchasing a motorbike so plan to do some solo motorcycle camping in the future. Summer has just started here so I am looking forward to what I can get up to in the next few months.
One of your members watched my youtube video and asked if I belonged to these forums, truth be known I had never heard of the hammock forums, who knew there would be a whole community of people who enjoyed it. I only discovered the idea of hammock camping when I started watching motorcycle camping videos to get a few ideas for myself and I stumbled upon a number of people using hammocks. As I investigated further I decided to give it a try so purchased myself a cheap hammock and went out for the weekend.
Anyway that is about it, there is a lot of information to digest on these forums so I will be lurking here for a while having a read and soaking up some knowledge and experience.

Welcome EasyGoer, can't wait until you get a hang set up , perhaps a few of us could drop over, since it's so nearby. Are you on the North Island or South Island?
If you prepare for failure you will probably succeed.

I am in Napier, that is about half way down the east coast of the North island. Warm temperatures and the highest sunshine hours in New Zealand with easy access to lots of camping areas, easily within an hours drive.

Thank you. That song was 'Moving together' by "Noiseshaper", a great song.
