Definitely re-appropriating this for my kids, what a clever application. Kudos to your mom for the great idea.

Campmor sells a water carrying bladder that is precisely this. 1.1 silnylon with a grosgrain/webbing reinforced top. You can't open it like this one, but it does have a handle.

I've been meaning to make one but just haven't got around to it. My buddy has the exact one in this picture and it works great.

Ah that's the next I plan on making with a circle with ruffled edge and then reinforced with grosgrain. My ruffler doesn't fit my current machine so it's going to have to wait. Thanks for the pic

Just started on 30 pucker pouches out of cotton duck for the kids at our annual Florida Hang. Similar to yours but they will just have a leather lace through eyelets around the perimeter. Almost broke out the serger but managed the edge binding with an overcast stitch on the 40 yo Kenmore. It would have taken me days to adjust, setup, thread and learn the serger.

Blew out my Sawyer squeeze bag last weekend on a hike so I will be working on a collection/water bag using your design.
    Thank you.
