Red face Hail from good ole Alberta Canada!

    Merry meet everyone!
Names Lucas, I'll be a 35 year old journyman automotive tech by the end of the month, and live in good ole Alberta canada!

I just got into hammocks last year. I ride a dual sport bike (86 honda xl250r)
On the dual sport forums they were having a camping get together on the bikes.

I didnt realy have the gear for that and first started looking for a small tent and gear id be able to haul on the bike. Which led me to 1 man bivis n backpacker gear... which led me to hammocks.
After several days/weeks I orderd up a dd modular hammock... seemed like the caddilac of hammocks to me.

I love it! Jump on the bike n dissapear into the bush for a weekend!
One advantage to the bike is I can haul a lol more weight than id care to on foot... my pack half sits on the seat if I let it sag a lil, and my sleepin bag straps to the rear fender.

Altho I quickly found out its not realy logical to hang it 15-20feet up outta bears reach... which was part if how I iustified it to the ole lady and kinda what I had in mind.

I actualy found the forum since im looking at getting around that issue after a scare the 2nd last time I was out.. no fun being too scarrd stiff to move or twitch.. bear spray in my hands or not!

Found some good ideas and lotsa great info here.. I think im gona have an epicaly great setup that takes as litttle time to setup as tying 2 ropes n peeling back a snakeskin!

Anyways more on that in the future.. lol

Was gona post a pic, but seems im not allowed yet..

    ~L~

Maybe I'll have to try n set one up. Good campin n fishing around here, where I normaly camp is crown land west end of moose lake near Bonnyville, typicaly right beside the lake or just off the river.. Miles of quad/atv trails as well.
