Update: I had the chance to hang the polyd hammock up today in my backyard. Wow! I love it. WAY better lay than the Yukon double I had been using. I'm 6'2" and had no calf ridge pressure whatsoever. I didn't notice the static that others have mentioned about the polyd. Interestingly though, when I was playing with the structural ridge line I discovered that I actually prefer the polyd without the ridgeline versus when using the Yukon double I had use it to get an ideal lay.

That static in this PolyD is crazy! Anyone figured out a way to tame this light show yet?

Dutchs polyd hammock is my go to hammock these days. I had huge static when the hammock was new.

I've gotten about 5 full nights sleep in it so far and hung in it probably 2-5 other times to try it out and the static has gotten significantly lower.

At first I would get shocked when getting in or out of it but now I can hardly tell there's any at all.

The fourth hammock I made was from 3oz polyester and the static is why I retired it. I have some PolyD on the way. May try the dryer sheet right away.

I have commented in the past about static problems with the poly D. However, the last two times I used it I had no issues at all. Here's to hoping the static stays away. Maybe it's just manifested by our being "shocked" by Dutch's great deal on such a quality hammock.

Rub a few dryer sheets all over the inside and outside and the static will vanish or throw it in the dryer with a few sheets.

That is for PolyD 1.4 - Hammeck offers hammocks in PolyD 1.2 - they state 200 lbs
