Let me try to close this topic with what I am instructed to do when a member asks a mod about bypassing the 50 post rule.

The official position of the mod team and our standard response is:

I'm sorry, but the rule stands.
This forum doesn't exist as a place to sell items. It is a discussion forum for hammocks and hammock related topics.
People that have 50 posts have contributed to discussions on the forums, and have earned the ability to sell items here.

I hope this little peak into the mods rule book helps clear up our position.

    thanks for reading,
    O&B
    HFMod
This is in line with my primary thoughts on the rule.

Also, the rule is not there for new members, its there for the community. Its not so much a qualification, but a chance to get to know, at least to some degree, folk who you will be sending money to. If you haven't got familiar with the seller yet, a quick post search helps.

    Haha. that is funny!

I must say that at first I didn't like the 50 post rule and then I realized that it doesn't matter. I also must say that the donation side is great! HF is probably one of my favorite forums when I have time to peruse it.

Each day I log in and am surprised to see this post still trending. I agree with the 50 post count and with this one I am getting closer to that magic number!

    Would love too.

Just don't pick on me if I go to the ground, lol. I still don't have an underquilt and it is darn cold. Hopefully I will change that in the next couple of weeks though, going to make a synthetic one. I just need to figure out what type of material I am going to get, etc. I might have to try the downmat in the hammock see how it fairs.

Speaking of reaching 50 posts...I just checked the post odometer and it's just about to roll over the big five-oh. What better place to spend my 50th than here?

See you in the PIF thread...

I was about to agree with the 50 post rule. However, I also checked the post odometer and am close to roll over the big five-oh on here and WB. Honestly, I simply appreciate the knowledge that is shared and insight given that cannot match the money gained from whether an individual is able to sell items or not. Thank you to all the Mods that make this board possible and all the members that post whether it's their 1st or one hundred and first. If my record holds true on some of my other post... this will end the thread! lol

As a newly active member, I fully appreciate the rule. It keeps the site much cleaner. I just appreciate the wealth of wisdom that I have picked up here!
