FL > NWF Panhandle > Central time zone dwellers!

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this up or not, but let's give it a go.

My name is chris and I live in Fort Walton Beach (okaloosa county)

A thread/discussion for those in the central time zone (ok we'll let some EST people in too) area of florida. There are some great places to hang in Escambia/Okaloosa/Santa Rosa/Bay counties and I'd like to hear from you guys. I've bumped into a couple of you on the forum.

I'd like to share spots to camp and possibly get a group hang going?

I've camped/hung at Grassy Point State Park which is apparently no longer state owned, but it's got camping! (link)

intercoastal waterway islands south of Hurlburt Field AFB in okaloosa county.

And the rest are on private land.

Duffy here, from P-cola. Lots and lots of good places in Blackwater River State Forest. There's a Florida Trail spur there, and if you backpack, you can hang just about anywhere. Good kayak rivers, too. Also 4 lakes with nice car-campgrounds-almost all sites have hang-able trees.

Maskedmedic here from Marianna. I go to the portion of the FL trail that follows the Econfina river. There are a few good primitive sites on the trail and miles of great hiking. I would also be interested in getting a group hang going in our area.

I wouldn't mind getting back to the Panhandle, although it will have to wait until after the Fifth Annual Florida Hang. I know Duffy is going, how about you guys?

Ok so I have ordered 2 under quilts for myself and the misses but they won't be there in time for the annual florida hang. Any one that is going have any extras we could barrow or any advise how not to become a hanger popsicle?

Wafflebox is looking for a ride from Tallahassee to FHV and back. I offered to take him back on Monday, if there is no other option. He can't leave until Friday. If any of y'all are able to fit him to get him there, you may want to reach out to him for a ride to FHV!

Wafflebox, if your transportation falls through, let me know. We can probably get you there.
