    A couple of warnings.
    1. Trim kitty nails short, you do need to be careful not to cut into the quick of their nails it is very painful and could cause bleeding and infection. Only clip the tip of the claw off, you can see where the quick and blood supply are by looking if the cat has light colored claws. Once a month our cats get their ears cleaned and nails trimmed.

2, We had one of our cats get the Nail Tips caught and she ripped out a claw. Cats can also get fungus from the Nail Tips, we stopped using them.

My cat slept with me this summer, she had a unique way of getting into the hammock, a drop from above. She really thought she was clever.

Cats are very individualistic, also very creative in getting whatever they want. I would cover my hammock with something at all times. Blanket sounds good, bath sheet would work. Trimmed claws, well covered hammock, fingers crossed all might work. If the cat is siamese, it would probably tear off whatever you cover your hammock with as a method of protest!

Ha ha! Okay, now I'm laughing!

It's true, it really does depend on the cat. I've known cats that insisted the furniture was there for their scratching pleasure, others not at all.

Unfortunately, this cat I've known for 12 years, and she has never had her claws clipped in her life. I think a car ride alone, never mind having to be away from home, is enough trauma for her. Basically... she would F.reak! bigtime. All that aside, she's not mine.

I've worked this out with myself, and I'm going to choose to trust her.

I just got to figure out a way to let them get into it themselves ,when they want into it they will sit and cry until someone ( me ) lifts them into it ,but in my own hammock they will lay with me but I always put a blanket inside so they can walk about ,but I don't trust them not to scratch on my under quilt ,

Maybe you need to start them off lower, so they can figure it out, then gradually increase the height?

Lucky for me (In this situation) I don't have a fancy underquilt to worry about.

    Hey! I'm from Alberta too!

Let me know how it works out. If I end up doing it, and she likes it, I can send the hammock home with her!

    Calgary. You?
