I'll be getting down to -16*f this weekend. I may need to resort to sleeping on the ground though as my hammock setup isn't quite ready.

Whoa. It did NOT get that cold in Florida last night.
Way to go. Nice looking TQ
No snow in the forecast here and it is only suppose to get down to the high teens here Wed night so I will have to work with I have,
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
Perhaps one of the neatest TQ's to date .. I up the size of my gear for deep cold, carabiner's are your friend. I use biners and descending rings, adds a few ozs. But takes away the fiddle factor. Did I say that was one sweet quilt ..

Those biners are slippery with gloves on! I used some small ones for the doors on my tarp. I use the big Camp USA ones for my straps. TINY Dutch Fleas for the guy lines. Wasp on CRL. Thanks for the compliments on the Viking Shield quilt, UGQ did a great job.
Neat trees in your backyard! Like that quilt a lot. UGQ will be getting my order soon.
Shug- if I remember right, didn't you get frostbite that trip? Was it because of the setup or was there another time your hands were exposed for a longer period of time? I have no experience with temps that cold, but if you got it just from the setup/takedown that is fast!
Did you sleep with your ski goggles on? I suppose if you sleep under the covers you probably don't need them.
That topquilt is aweeesssssommmmeeeee!!!! Man that is sick.
Thanks guys. Shug had a small hole in one of his gloves, which caused frost nip.
