All my gear is stored in a spare bedroom and all TQs and UAs are stored on top of a bed in either its own large storage cotton bags or spread out. I then throw a large table cloth over it all to protect from the sun's UV coming in the windows. Nothing is stored compressed.

    Garage

For the most part all the camping gear is stored in the garage.

I tied a wood closet rod just under and at the end of my garage door runners/track. Short rod between the two doors. After a trip all gear like quilts, poncho liners, hammock, etc are hung over them to air dry. Everything else is cleaned, washed, dried and placed back in the packs - ie: First Aid kit, eating utensils, Iodine tabs, Water Bottles, etc.

When the quilt stuff is dried it's placed in storage sacks that breath - but are bug proof.

Everything is in one area and easy to sort through for the next trip.

cooking gear can remain in the garage, w/ adequate ventilation for the stove & fuel

DITTO! I am luck that the basement has a controlled climate so everything minus fuel can be stored there. If it means something and costs the buck's it stays inside. My road bike stay's in the house just can't afford to replace some of this stuff. Good Question!

My bikes and the wife and kid's bikes take up the garage.

I am hanging some old kitchen cabinets in the attic. Stoves, cookware, etc. will go in there. Gear with fabric, insulation and such will be stored somewhere inside.

I will never store a tent in the attic again you can be sure.

    Thanks for the input everyone.
