We sure have missed your rhodo-crackin skills and your culinary arts in the Gorge, Mountnman (although Moose was creating some culinary adventures of his own last time). See ya there in the Spring

You will be missed LazyBee... Wish I could be there for this year's FHV with you; but I'm not going to let a 3-day weekend go without some hammocking in the piney woods.
Look north from Florida on Saturday night... You may see the sky glowing from our Shuttle-Fire here in Pisgah

Bring them along! We'd enjoy meeting y'all.
If they prefer campground amenities instead of primitive car-camping you could make some reservations in Davidson River Campground and join us for daytime activities and shuttle fires.
This is a family-friendly event. Everyone is welcome ( even ground dwellers .

The weather looks to be shaping up in our favor too! Although Pisgah has never been accused of adhering to forecasts. lol

I am looking for a place to hang next weekend, it would be Saturday before I could get there and I have no idea what to bring for the group supper but I could donate toward the cost. I will definitely keep this one in mind.
Would be good to meet you Country Hang. Show up any day you like.
We'll have more on the dinner needs later this week.
Why we are hosting this hang?
It is a Good time to test cold weather setups and try a few different methods; without being too cold, and it's just fun meeting some new folks.
By the way - whichever site we end up choosing will have easy access to plenty of fresh water - just needs filtering or boiling. And town will be only a few miles away by car.
PS: I carry my Sawyer mini filter in an inside pocket during cold weather - even sleep with it in the hammock, so it won't freeze.

Oh how I do like camping in Pisgah. Moreso, hanging with new and old friends. It's been too long since I was awakened at 3:00ish in the AM from snowballs hitting the side of my tarp (hadn't forgotten HB). However, I am also headed to FHV and taking the family with me for this one.
It is nice to know that this is planned to be an annual event. Maybe next year?

You will be missed. FHV will be warmer for the family.
