Massdrop can't make a vendor sell something at a discount. They can ask the vendor if they are willing to offer a discount if they reach a certain number of orders for a product. See how it woks here....https://www.massdrop.com/how-it-works.

You are still ordering from Dutch but via Massdrop
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

I understand it f it gets his products in front people who don't know about them, but we already do. What do we gain besides saving $2? Higher shipping and longer wait time?

It is an interesting concept. I thought I would give it a try. They are good to work with and you get to determine the discount amount. After the sale, they send the postage labels and I send it out. I thought it would be good exposure to people who may not otherwise know about my stuff. I'm kind of indifferent to it right now. I think you will be seeing more of them. They are aggressive at getting venders. Ultralight is a new category for them. Most of their stuff is expensive electronics or niche gifts. Anyhow it is still my products and it is made and sent by me.
    Peace Dutch

Two bucks is a lot to some folks. I'd never heard of Massdrop before, but I'll be adding it to my list of sites to check out when I'm in the market for something in particular. As it is, I'll probably be trying to convince the wife to let me spend a few bucks in the morning.
I used to be a somebody, now I just camp.

    Interesting concept ...

For those that already use it, do you have a longer ship time? In other words, does Massdrop ship when you order or do they wait for more orders to come in? That would make a difference for me, I hate waiting.

There's a date already setup, I believe. When the date arrives, the orders are sent to the manufacturer and they get made/shipped.

I think that's how it works anyway. That's what I get from the email I got the other day when I ordered an EE Revelation quilt. Massdrop will send another email when the product ships.
