    Finally put it all together.

Well after 2 months a research on this site, 2 orders to Dutchwear, custom tarp made by member Boston, three nights making continuous loops, hammock and tarp leads, a Lawson order, it all came together when I set it all up for the first time.
    Thanks guys and gals....

Forgot I made my own tree straps and am using toggles I made.

I also made a set up for my scout son. He has a Yukon hammock and tarp with Dutch hardware also.

    Looks good!

You might want to get some longer tree straps to go around that monster tree you've got.

Yah. I do t think where I camp the trees will be that big. I'm going to sleep in it a while tonight and see how long I last. Tomorrow I'm going to sew up a sleeping bag I cut down to size for an under quilt, and then see how cold I can go. Next weekend is our cold weather wilderness survival campout and I will really put it to the test. Just the boys have to sleep with the shelter they make.

Well, I confess that I went the entire opposite direction and simply bought a finished Warbonnet. (I haven't hung it yet, but plan to hang it tonight in my basement) I guess you could say that I cheated and went the simple but expensive route, and I'd agree, but I'm still just as excited. I still expect my wife to adopt my blackbird and that I'll be looking to make another hammock from the prototype warbird. Also, I expect that I'll not be satisfied with the comparison to what I can produce and what WarBonnet sells so I'll be looking to buy another retail hammock, but that's another story...

My wife would of liked the time it takes to order a Warbonnet but not the price.. Hang in the basement??
Enjoy your new hammock, I think I'm going too.
