I just found this thread and want to wish you well and hope you have great weather (like we’re having now) on your hike. I admire you in that you’re doing this in support of a very noble cause.

Well, we started our first official online trail journal. Another learning experience. Still need to figure out how to add to it by phone. Our UGQ top quilts and Vietnam silk liners have been shipped (from different companies) so there is a good hope they will be here in time for the trip, and if I get off the computer I might be able to finish Bob's JC Penny underquilt. In my defense, I made him one already, he just wants a longer one and may double them up. I wonder if anyone has done that?

I've done it with my Climashield quilts on especially cold evenings, with the shorter quilt next to the hammock and the longer quilt to the outside. Just make sure you're not compressing the shorter quilt too much.

We are in Huntsville, have cached some water and a car. We are resting in a Motel tonight, a beautiful night for camping. Tomorrow when 50% chance of rain is predicted, wecwill begin our hike.
