Very well done. I like.

I like it, let the bridge revolution begin! (rather, _continue_).
WV-- credit on the dowel-in-hiking-pole properly goes to TeeDee, the original DIY bridge contributor on the forums.
Another one of his important contributions that I mostly served to evangelize is use of the marlin-spike hitch.

great project!
are you planing to try it with an down uq? I wonder if moisture would accumulate between your body and the layers than then? Even if one would not sweat I suppose that the dew point will be on the inside of the cuben layer wich causes moisture anyway. Other thoughts?

Wow! A 10oz bridge! And the pad system will save more overall weight. My only concern would be moisture, but I sweat a lot. Congratulations on a job well done!

Very nice work, I look forward to hearing future reports of how it performs.

Great looking project! Like the idea of cuben as second layer with plan of using a pad.
Best thing about this thread is that Grizz and WV chimed in......reminds me of a time the forum was constantly pushing the envelope in innovation for bridge hammocks and more.
Makes me want to break out the bridge hammock again.
Black Wolf, thanks for getting our creative juices flowing. I'm working on a new bridge myself (which I'll describe in another thread). Let us know how yours feels when you've had a chance to spend a few nights in it. I've learned that my first impression of a hammock is important, but I won't know the whole story until I wake up. Shoulder squeeze, in particular, tends to creep up on me.
I second dirtwheels comment. Great job, I am anxious to see how well it performs. I keep reading all the innovations and planning my attempt at building a bridge, just when I think I know exactly how I am going to proceed someone comes along with a great idea I have not thought of.
This looks awesome! I'm also watching for the report on it. Very nice innovation.
