Ok so I have a really cool patch I want to put on my down jacket, so my question is what is the best way to apply the patch. I'm scared that if I sew on will the stitching leak, if I glued it would the down clump? Ant help would be appreciated

It's not the fall im scared of, it's the sudden stop at the end!!!

Stitching is the way to go, but you will lose all the loft in the area of the patch. The stitching shouldn't leak any more down than any stitching anywhere else on the jacket. I would imagine any glue, even fabric glue, would eventually peal off or get brittle when cold.

Yeah, if you are hand sewing that would work fine.

When hand sewing, the thread tends to pull out bits of down as you go. I wonder if monofilament nylon thread would do this less?
What about hand sewing with a very fine needle and silk thread?
just out of pure curiosity and an interest in patches and decals,... what makes the patch cool?
Sew it on your hat.
Yea I don't want it on my hat I want it on my jacket.lol
