Considering an ENO Vulcan underquilt

Anyone have any experience with an ENO Vulcan underquilt? It's rated down to 30-40 deg, which would work for me since most of my camping is in Florida year round. It may be a little bulky/heavy however that's not an issue. Right now they're running about $174 at REI. Looking for a reasonably priced underquilt that gets the job done.

Better keep looking. You'd be hard pressed to find a good review about ENO underquilts on this site, or anywhere else. Most say ENO's temp ratings are way off. You'd be better off with something like an HG 40* Phoenix at $159 and 11.7 ounces. To boost the temp ratings, you could add an ounce or two of overstuff for $9 each.

The choice is simple: buy one of the heaviest (30 oz.), most overpriced UQs on the market, or get something infinitely better around the same price from one of our cottage vendors.

I have HG 20* quilts and they rock. I also picked up an Arrowhead New River 3 season for in the house and around the yard when I don't want to use the down. The New River would work for you and they also have a summer version that goes from the mid 40*s on up. Since you said bulk and weight were not concerns you could stick with the synthetics and. Just my 2 cents and worth every penny...

Check out the KAQ Jarbidge UQ - it's synthetic, $100, 20.46 oz., and rated for most users down to 25 degrees. I've read nothing but great reviews, and it's very popular with forum members.

Another vote for the KAQ Jarbidge from Arrowhead Equipment. Cheaper and lighter, I love mine. I would recommend it to anyone looking for an inexpensive but very well built and effective UQ

Another question...
If I bought an underquilt rated for colder weather than I need, can I just loosen up the quilt in warmer weather to compensate or would I be re-adjusting the quilt all night long?
