Old Dominon Hangers MeetnGreet & Winter Hang

Well, the new Old Dominion Hangers had our first event, a MeetnGreet, as a largely one day, show off your gear and stuff your face thing.
The food was stupendous I lost track of what everyone brought but we had a 6 oven, Dutch Oven stack going and it was NICE. Two kinds of cobbler, low country boil, corn pudding, white chicken chili, beef stew, cole slaw, chicken pot pie, hot wings, hot dogs.... I cannot remember what all else. We feasted WELL.
I was able to host a few folks overnight and, after sitting around the small sun we had going in the woods, I think I really do have sunburn from that, BTW, we all slept snug as can be. My recording thermometer says it got down to 30 and it started a light drizzle around 0300.
We are getting the information in order for the spring hang and should have a thread up by tomorrow.
I am looking forward to seeing the pictures y'all were taking yesterday.

Y'all, individual geographically-specific clubs are the next and most logical evolution in the social aspect of hammock camping. We (PSH) knew it wouldn't be long before other folks were doing what we'd done and the fact that y'all are next in line means (to me) that we weren't crazy in thinking that. Our offer of support continues to stand because I genuinely want to see y'all succeed in this and I hope that before too long there's at least one club like this in every state.

Having a club really opens a lot of doors when it comes to having a relationship with the state and local governments as far as being allowed to do things is concerned. It lends a measure of credibility and responsibility to our hobby. From what I've heard from CoreyR and my discussions with him before this weekend, y'all are REALLY on the right track.

I honestly couldn't be more excited for y'all or for the Virginia hangers that will benefit from your efforts.

It was a fantastic time. Here are some pics:

Sandman...what was the best way to get these on Facebook? I just checked the page out and couldn't find any of the pics we posted that night or how to post more. Should I just send to you for posting? If so, what was our gmail again?

What a great time! So much food! So much fire! It was great meeting everyone and putting some faces with the screen names. I really need to start taking more pictures.

If it's on base, then yeah. You can just hold onto it in case you might need it again. We'll both be at PSPOOP-N. But it's up to you.
