Or you could hang it off the hammock itself. I have a Grand Trunk UL, and there's a pocket which the hammock stuffs into. When the hammock is set up, this little pocket hangs right in the center off the hammock, about where your waist would be. That would be a nice little storage area as long as you didn't overload it.

Isn't that uncomfortable? In winter I usually wear my Ribz pack in my hammock just to keep alcohol, wet wipes, and electronics safe from freezing, but I don't have anything else in the hammock but me.

It's not very cozy at all. But I've had my water and contact solution freeze once and that would be the first and last time.

Just this past weekend I forgot about my Nalgene in the WBBB shelf. So I put it in my TQ at 3am which was half frozen and slushy. BRRRR!!

Haha, kind of the opposite of the hot water bottle trick. Brrrrr
I've used a stickon hand warmer and spare sock to re melt my slushy water.

I've thought about making something like those little pouches but I'd like something big though. The WBRR has saddle bags but there is tension on where they hang from. The good thing is if a big pouch were to hang from the right side, it would pull the material down a little allowing more view on that side.

Speaking of view, that was another reason for wanting to try a simpler hammock.

The clothes for the morning & a light jacket are what I use for leg insulation with my 3/4 UQ... Never seems uncomfortable & I hate cold clothes in the AM

That's a good idea. I keep some clothes in a stuff sack as a pillow.

I just recieved this hammock in the mail at work. Looking forward to trying it out when I get home. The olive green color is pretty ugly compared to my WBBB which is like a dark hunter green. But if it's comfortable I'm happy!

let us know how you like it. I have been tempted many times to cut off that little stuff bag on my Trek Light double, but I do find it useful. As long as you don't put a lot of heavy stuff in there, it cinches up nicely. I also use a ridgeline organizer & have my camp chair handy for larger stuff. A peak bag sounds like a good idea as well.
