    Lawson glow wire or zing-it

Just can't seem to make up my mind which I want to use on my new supper fly for tie outs.
I already have yellow zing-it and plus the fly is not here yet so I have time to figure it out.

Just wondering if others have used both and can give som insite to pro's and con's on thewm both.
I will be using the new tarpworm's also.

I like glow wire on the tie outs. No tripping involved! It will add a little weight if that concerns you.

Zing-it: lighter, spliceable, works with dutchware, non reflective can tangle, slips in plastic hardware I've tried, doesn't hold knots too well.

Glowire: reflective, easy to tie and untie and holds knots well, stiff, doesn't tangle easily and untangles very easily, reflective, can melt the ends so it doesn't fray, doesn't fit in dutchware (except the new worms), works in all the plastic hardware I've tried.

I missed out breaking strength but let's face it you're not gonna break either as a guyline. I think I've covered everything.

I like both but for ease of use but think I prefer glowire... plus it's available in orange

I like the black Glowire so my setup doesn't look like a circus. I guess you could use Ling-it (gray zing-it) to tone it down if you care.

If you're using figure-9s like me, the zing-it is much easier to pull. The Glowire is stiffer and a bit scratchy/rough, but still works fine. Actually, it may help it hold better.

And if you're messing with it at home, be ready to vacuum!!

No matter which one you pick, it's very likely you'll try some others down the road and you'll rig other tarps. Rigging for me is like swapping around pedals and saddles on my bicycles. I'll strip the rigging off one tarp and toss it in a zip lock bag, try something else for a while, move it onto another tarp, give it to someone who is just starting out.

Craige does a great job of hitting all the high points but the it's hard to know which factors will be most important to you till you get out in the field and start working with the stuff.

For what it's worth, I recommend that at some point you get some zing-it, play around with it for a while, learn to splice, you'll probably always have some of it around for this or that no matter what else you may get into.

With scouts around, I'd definitely go glowwire - there's a small chance you won't spend all your time resetting your lines.

No reason you can't try both....rig one side with ZingIt and the other with Lawson. I tried that with my tarp, several years later and I'm still mis-matched.

My vote is the Lawson glow wire, you will be surprised on how it lights up at night when it gets hit with alittle light.even the black!!
