Thanks Grizz. Though I was Scout but not Eagle and I am current Scout leader that loves knots and associated craft. I think I got the mental picture but photos would be great. Please do keep your eyes open when taking the pictures! Many thanks.
Ikemouser, MrToots, as promised
Here the ridgline cord is 550 paracord (put on there for a trip this summer where I wanted NOT to have reflective bits in that cord, for a bit of stealth action), and the grey cord is LashIt, tied in a Klemheist hitch.
Grizz
Thank you very much Grizz
What other ropes/cord/lines besides 550 are best to use for a full length ridgeline, i heard that 550 droops in the rain and causes your tarp to flap, i dont want that.

One thing to keep in mind here is that we need two different diameter cords.
In order for most of these "Slide and Grip" Knots to work best, we should use a smaller diameter cord for the knot than we do the ridge line itself.....
From the Klemheist knot site linked above:
DarrelRope Size: These knots must be made using a rope smaller than the load bearing rope, e.g., 5 or 6 mm cord around a main 9 mm abseiling rope. The effectiveness of these knots diminishes as the sizes of the two ropes approach each other.![]()
