I am suspending selling the speed hooks

Man...been away for a while. I'm planning a group hang and needed a couple of Speed Hooks for new setups. Bummed they weren't available, but even more bummed I shredded all my whoopie sling/hook suspension for the speed hook. I have a lot more work to do than I thought. Time to redo 3 hammock suspensions.

Understanding that they are not recommeded for this application, but is there a reason that the "double hammock whoopie hooks" that are currently available cannot be used as a speed hook, (if I wanted to personnaly assume the risk for fraying etc. which caused Dutch to suspend selling them).

Not my video, but apparently there are work arounds to make it work. Obviously not being used as intended.

I don't recommend using the double hammock whoopee hook. The corners are not ground down and it would have more issues than the speed hook. Seriously some risks are not worth the grams and I really don't want anyone to get hurt.

Any word on when the 2.0 can be expected? If it's dropping soon I'll hold off but I have 2-3 more suspension setup's to buy for my friend and girlfriend. I've yet to use my speedhooks since it's cold and my indoor hang just uses tow straps. Should I hold off Dutch or just order some whoopies?

Currently my speed hooks are spliced onto 6 foot amsteel dogbones to provide the "Tree Strap" part of my gear sling suspension.

How do you splice the speed hook onto a dogbone? I'd like to get one onto the shaft of the dogbone, not one of the loops.

Put it on the cord, then splice the loop at the end.
