HG UQ. 40 or 20 degree?

I am looking for a Spring/fall UQ from HG. I have a 0*+3oz UQ Incubator from HG. I also have a 40* TQ from HG which seems warm enough. I really want to keep my weight down but I'm afraid the 40* UQ might be to cool and the 20* UQ might be over kill for mid spring/fall. I do most of my Hiking in Iowa and on the Superior Hiking trail in Early June and mid Sept. Thoughts anyone? Thanks!

I use my 0º Incubator all the way up to 60º so I'd get the 40º if in your shoes.
Next question is 3/4 or full length.

In fact, I'm order#6877 placed 4 days ago for a 40º 3/4 Phoenix which will be used from indoor hanging down to 40 or 50º.

Thanks Thumbs. Full length. I have a 20* 3/4 from WBBB. I like it for the summer but I really like the full length UQ.

    I have the following quilts.

One WBBB 0* + 3 oz overfill TQ
    One WBBB 20* 3/4 3 season UQ
    one HG 0* + 3oz overfill UQ
    one HG 40* standard TQ

For an extra 5oz, I would go with the 20° to be safe. I had a 40° for a long time and finally sold it. The 20° isn't overkill up to 50° IMO.

I think it's best to try and look back at as many past trips as you can remember. What were the temps? When I look back, so many of my spring/fall trips were around 25-40° for a low. I think the 40 would have gotten me by, but the 20° is a safe bet and I had no worries about staying warm before going to bed.

Thanks Markr6, I have pretty much used my 0* all year round except in the dead of summer. I really don't know what degree incubator I could get away with. I was hoping for a 40* incubator to go with my 40* TQ. but I think you are correct sir about going with the 20*. I think the 40* will be a little to cool. My average low temp is also around the 25 to 40.

Have Adam @ HG make you a 30 degree TQ & UQ. All you have to do is ask. I have both a 30 degree TQ & UQ if I where to do it again 30 degree UQ and a 20 degree TQ would be great for 3 season hanging on all but the hottest days. Just remember you can pop you UQ off to the side and kick of the TQ if its to hot.

I have a set of 30degree TQ and UQ and use them in UNY from April to October. Love em, give Adam the word and you will be all set.

BAM! Thanks Krshome. They do that? Hmm....best of both worlds. A 30* would give me weight savings and the right temp rating. I'm going to have to keep and use the 40* TQ with the new 30* UQ. I wish I known about the 30* UQ AND 30* TQ before getting the 40* TQ. That would have been right up my alley...... Thanks for the great info.
