Mr. Tickle posed the question of what alternate uses there could be for Speed Hooks. They would make good Whoopie Hooks. I am mulling over using them as a pack hook to hang off my tree huggers.
Any other ideas?

Yes! Pulk sled tie downs!
The biners disconnect the system right down the middle...nothing to lose in the snow...no knots for cold fingers. Perfect application!
I gave them to my mother in law for her hammock....

Guy line tie outs. Emergency strap system for pack, a big Carl pack hanging system and a just in case lite weight suspension small enough to carry as a back up if the other system is getting worn.
It's not the boulders that throw us off balance, it's the pebbles beneath our feet
I'm going to use it as a pulley system for my gravity water bag. The loop end of the amsteel lead goes around the tree trunk. Throw a 10' amsteel dogbone over a branch, one end hook the speed hook, the other connect the water bag. I can lift it off the ground at just the right height.
I'm using them to hang with......I ain't skeerd!
