    DIY winter UQ

My first real uq, two layers of 5 oz Climashield, brown 1.1 ripstop body with suspension channels made from some 1.1 Marpat ripstop I had laying around. Used the sandwich method, very easy. Sewing the Climashield wasn't as bad as I thought, I did use scraps on the "bottom of the sandwich", but did a few areas without, and the Climashield didn't ever catch in the feeders. After hanging it, and seeing it want to accordion a bit, I think I'm going to sew linelocs to each corner, and create a secondary suspension that pulls the two ends away from each other.

Thanks guys. The climashield was 1.25 to 1.5" per layer, stacked was right around 3". Based on CLO values this should go way below zero, realistically I'm hoping it will get to negative single digits on its own. I'll stack a Phoenix 20 with it if it gets into polar vortex temps.

If you stack it - your way into sub-zero.

    What does it weigh?

I will be away for work for the next few days, but once I get back I will weigh it and post. It will only be carried in a sled or car.
