    OMG! What Is That Thing???

    Here is a combination UL bug net/peak beaks/weather shroud/hammock tent ...

That is way too expensive and difficult to make.

    It's a 5.2 ounce ugly, ugly baby ...

But it's mine and I love it!

It has panels of .70 ounce bug net and .31 ounce CF.

I'll next fashion a cap to put over the top net panel for cold weather, probably attached with Velcro. It might be that lightweight transfer cloth.

Need to trim and clean it up more and sew pebble pockets in the lower corners.

Cool stuff MDSH. You are being very innovative with your pursuit of ul-hammocking.
Did you get to test it out yet? I wonder how much condensation one gets in there, with that much net I guess it might be little.

    Thanks, jolunder.

There was a definite greenhouse effect under the CF when I got in it today with the sunshine beaming right on it. But yes, there was plenty of circulation of air. And it was no problem tying it up for the cross breeze. Did some good reading in there!

Here it is with the minimalist tarp (6x9'). One can see why this is a good addition since this tarp is so small. While the small tarp passed muster in a t-storm this last summer, it left me with an uneasy feeling. This settles my mind greatly and I expect to enjoy it a lot.

This thing is awesome. I like that you don't have to cinch it underneath. What method are you using to tie it up to the ridgeline there?
