    MI > Reid Lake-Huron Manistee Forest/Jan 30th 2015 Weekend Hang

It's late notice, but Squirrelbait (Aaron) and I are planning trip up to Reid Lake Foot travel area this coming weekend: Friday Jan 30 to Sunday (Feb. 1). Reid Lake is located on the south side of M-72, east of 65 and north of Glennie, Michigan. Parking lot is plowed and the hike in is about 1.5 miles. There is an established campsite on the south side of Reid Lake and that will most likely be our spot for the weekend (option 2 is a little further south). There is a firepit and wilderness toilet available. Nighttime temps in the low single digits expected with daytime highs in the teens.

If anyone wants to join us, we plan on leaving from the trailhead around 2:30 or 3 on Friday afternoon and enjoying a weekend of hanging in the woods of Northern Michigan. This will be a great place to test out some gear prior to the Green Timbers Hang we've planned for the end of February. Michigandave

Very tempting, but I should probably save my vacation days and money for my backpacking trip. And green timbers.

Wow... bet you had an interesting drive home with the snow!

Hope you had a good time and get your gear dried out in time for the Big Tree Winter Hang!

That was a white knuckle drive south. Once I hit Saginaw, it went from bad to worse. Had 2-3 feet of drifts in my driveway this morning, but I'm enjoying my snow day
