    Ring Buckle Supports

Quickly set up a ring buckle support system tonight. Hammock main line, anchor hitch to two descending rigs, 16' (will trim) of one inch webbing from tree (fed through double figure eight on a bight). I'll eventually trim the webbing and sew a loop in one end.

Can't believe how easy the set up was and a cinch string up and adjust. Even got in there and it felt pretty solid. No slippage whatsoever. I'm sold on this system for the near future.

    hmmmmm on the rings

I'm assuming you're talking two rings and a Garda? I liked the simplicity too but I didn't like the way it compresses the cord--I mean major cord compression...no visible damage and I wrote Brandon about it. After I thought about it and mulled it over I'm going with the one triangle and a loosed/slipped buntline hitch; saves the weight of the rings and no compression other than the knot in the buntline itself. Might take a minute or two longer to dial in the level but that's OK.

No, I meant an anchor hitch (or bend depending on who you're talking to). The webbing is in the rings so I don't see a problem with compression. I'll take the weight of the rings (negligible) for the convenience.

I haven't been at this for long but I can't see it getting much easier than this.
