Talking The Lost Coast Trail - Seals, Sea Lions and Whales!

    Hey everyone!
This is our hike on the Lost Coast Trail in Northern California. The Lost Coast trail gets it's name because this section of land was too steep and rugged to build a road and Highway 1 veers inland 20 miles around this remote section of coastline. There are no roads or cars, cell reception and even getting to the trailhead is a journey in itself. It is only accessible by hiking.
We hiked the northern section and did an "in and out" hike for a total of 48 miles. I don't think I've ever seen this much wildlife on a trip before. We saw deer, whales, sea lions and literally saw hundreds of seals in the time we were there. This was a fantastic hike with plenty of water sources and amazing scenery. My only complaint was the tree situation was not good. But, with a trail that beautiful, I got over it and I can't wait to make it out there again.
    Thanks for watching!

Heck of a way to bring in the new year. Wanted to get to the Lost Coast while we were out there last summer but, Nickel Creek in Redwood NP was as close as we got. We did have a sweet spot to hang. Looks like you got some ground-dwelling at its finest. Love the North-Cali coast!

Who knew a hiking trip would involve knowing the tide charts! Thanks for the great video. And congrats to Pockets and you on your special day!

I had to do it while hiking the PNT this past summer and it sure was fun to work with the tides.
Thank you very much. It sure was a fun time.

always nice to see you two having a good time. I'd hate not swinging in between some trees but to sleep on the beach by the ocean with that view, I think I'd be okay!
