    Hammock stand whoppies

Just curious, those of you who've made hammock stands, how do you go about attatching whoppie slings to yours? do you use webbing wrapped around the wood with toggles?? thanks!

I put screw hooks in and just loop the whoopie over them.

Frankly, I don't like the look but it functions great.

Our hammock stand is a modified Risk style and uses 2 upright 4"x4".

Treat them just like trees using rope or webbing huggers.
Those who sacrifice freedom for safety, have neither.

Why do they always make the hammock stands at diagonals when trees are vertical?

The diagonals carry the loads more in-line with the hanging forces. Plus it's hard to make things as strong as nature makes trees.
