    To keep having a safe enough bury you really shouldn't go less than 6 inches on a continuous loop of amsteel. That is pretty small though.

    I don't know the answer to that. I have an 8" on the hammock and an 8" on the buckle to the biner. Though, after wrapping the amsteel around the buckle a few times it shortens it up an inch or two.

    I was more worried about want the minimum bury on each side should be.
