I took some pictures so I could post it on the Hammock Forums but you beat me to it. I just got a crank handle charger so hanging my iPhone allows me to watch something while recharging the phone. I like my new charger but haven't used it on a trip yet. Last time the only AA iPhone recharger I could find to work did a fine job but I had to carry several batteries to make sure I could keep a charge. I rely on my iPhone for several things while hiking including maps so I really want to keep it charged.

LOL Nice! We can start the Cool iPod Users Club.

On that crank charger... how well does it work? If it takes my iPod an hour to recharge in the car, does that mean an hour of cranking?

Anyway, I loaded up my iPod Touch with some movies and brought it along. The first night after trying to watch a movie for awhile, lying on my back holding it up in front of my face, I realized this was not conducive to comfort and relaxation. My arms were getting pretty tired.
I grabbed some 550 cord and a knife out of my pack. Two minutes later I was lying back in the hammock watching a movie sans-hands.

This is the out-in-the-woods version of hi-def home theater!

Adjustable for both viewing angle and view distance. It's strung over the ridgeline I added inside the Clark.

Friday night's feature was A Fistful of Dollars. Last night was For a Few Dollars More. Tonight will be The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. It's a Man with No Name weekend!

Since I've got my iPhone along for the ride to the site ... and off in my pack ... I've usually just uploaded a DVD (vis cucusoft) or maybe an iPhone movie rental. I like the 550 cord hanger ... that's a good idea.

I've usually got a 3GJuice backup that assures I won't burn through my battery in case I actually need the phone before I get back to the Jeep.

Usually I just enjoy being in Linville Gorge but that one trip was alone and it was kind of nice to watch a movie ... enjoy a hot cup of tea and lounge till time to snooze between the trees!
Isn't technology great!! Hard to go lite weight with all the new techno gizmos coming out...

My relatives thought I was a little wacky, sleeping outside in the "cold and damp". Little did they know I was WAY more comfortable than they were!

I used to take a Zune 80gb loaded with flics but decided that it didn't fit with my reasons for "getting out"

I actually don't get much opportunity to watch my flicks at home... seems certain movies that I really enjoy are not on the list of selections that my wife enjoys That or they're not appropriate for the younguns around here.

i picked up these speakers for possible solo trips - they sound great and pack very small. Also you only have to use 1 speaker at a time, which means you can play one until the battery dies, then use the other.

i will be conducting a batter test soon.
