Probably will just stick with using the turtle dog stand that I have made. Really no easy way to safely hang from The porch without screwing in hardware.

I personally would try it. If you think about it, your roof takes the weight and disperses it through the pillars. So in theory the pillars SHOULD hold your weight. I would try it but would get yelled at by my dad just because. If you are going to, make sure there is not a long drop in case you fall. BUT DO NOT ONLY TAKE MY OPINION AS I AM ONLY 14.

Lol. I never even thought of the pillars being hollow. our house was built in 1996. so probably not the best idea.

Depends, if they're square pillars then they'll have a 4x4, 4x6 or even 6x6 if it's a big porch. The decorative pillars will have the same but like said dead space between the post and outside cover.
