Master's thesis posted - fabric abrasion and leakage

Good morning! I just wanted to let everyone know that I've posted my Master's thesis, titled 'Study of Abrasion on Performance of Lightweight Water Impermeable Coated Textiles'. A few people have asked if it would be available once everything was done, and I've got a brief summary of what I did and a PDF copy posted on my site.

A quick overview of what I did:

Evaluate several different silnylons and other backpacking fabrics for how waterproof they are, but in a unique way.
Test how waterproof these fabrics are not just new, but after extended aging to simulate advanced tarp age.
Got some really cool images of new and used fabric with an electron microscope!
Finished up my Master's degree in the process.

WOW! Congrats! It's nice to have some science once in a while. Mostly it's just us HF amateurs talking to each other, with liberal doses of opinion and old wives tales. LOL

I've got a boatload of electron microscope photos, I'll be sure to share some more of them in the future.

And as for now, there are zero plans for becoming Dr. Hammock, or Dr. anything.

I remember years ago donating the tarp I thru'd with to Brien for this cause. He asked me to cut my beloved HH tarp that kept me dry for 6 months. At the time I felt like I could scream but now I am proud...
