Bridge hammock double layer, 70 inches long to fit my short body, sick of having everything too long.
I will make my own tree huggers.
    -Body from 1.6 Argon Brown
    -Outside layer Cuben Fibre Camo
(((I am going to form the Cuben Fibre into the bridge hammock shape, tape the edges then stitch the Cuben Fibre blank to the Argon 1.6. tidier and stronger, I hope)))
    - I will sew a channel down the center to secure my pad if I decide I need one.
    - Outside storage pockets with argon 90 coyote brown.
    - Support of the sides of the DL will be from 1/2 inch Webbing.
    - Olive thread.
    - Metal mitten hooks for keeping my light where I am able to find it in a hurry (I fall without light, no balance). I also have some other security stuff I want quick access to.
    - Hooks for TQ and UQ.
    - I will add a zip off bug net and top cover. Top cover will have no-see-um in a 24 inch width across the head area, and full length of the sides.
    - Bambo for the spreader bars. It is free and in my yard and renewable.

I hope I have everything covered, I keep thinking up little additions. Too many options to choose from.

    Materials List:

    6 Aluminum Quilt hooks (single)
2 Utility hook (Single) color: White Utility Hook

First of all, very awesome and gracious Dutch! Another reason why I love this HF community.

Now, in my impersonation of Nacho Libre's voice.... "Let's get down to the niiitty griiiitty!"

    Project:
A honeymoon suite for the wife and I for our anniversary trip this year consisting of two single layer NylonD hammocks, (one purple, one orange) with integrated zippered bugnets, peak storage bags, dyneema adjustable ridglines, no see um ridgeline organizers, double hammock whoopie hook suspensions, 5 foot black tree straps, dutch clips.

    Supplies
    5yrds 1.6 NylonD Deep Purple
    5yrds 1.6 NylonD Burnt Orange
10yrds NoSeeUM (No idea how much it would take to make what I listed above)
    25ft Orange Dyneema
    25ft Green Dyneema
    Spool Purple Thread
    Spool Orange Thread
2 zippers (long enough to zip around the sides to tuck bugnet in peak bag)
    50ft Grey Amsteel
    24ft Black Webbing
    2prs Dutch Clips
    2Prs Double Hammock Whoopie Hooks

This made me unbelievably anxious putting this list together, cause I have no skills to do this. If I win, I'm gonna have to buy those ridgline party lights for ambience!

Just this weekend I was dreaming out getting a sewing machine and making my own hammock with Dutch supplies! I couldn't afford it though, so this is awesome! My tablecloth hammock is ok, but not great, so this is a great opportunity. Thanks Dutch!

    My Hammock:
I would build a 10 ft simple hammock with a Fronkey style bugnet. It would have a fixed ridgeline with the organizer on it, and several bugnet pockets sewn onto the hammock body (similar to Dream Hammock's pockets). I would also make a smaller hammock for my dog (the green material and extra amsteel) so he can come with me and have a comfy place to sleep!

I like the simplicity of this, and it would be a good beginner project.

    My list:
5 yards of Charcoal Grey PolyD 1.4
3 yards of Olive Green PolyD1.4
    Grey 701 Gutterman Thread
    Black 000 Gutterman Thread
20 feet of black webbing for tree straps
10 yards of Nano no see um bug netting/gear pockets
    6 feet of reflectix
    25 feet of silver amsteel
    25 feet of blue amsteel
    25 feet of green amsteel
    25 feet of black amsteel
    splicing needles
    10 inch loop turner
    2 Ti Ridgeline Biners
    2 Ti Dutch clips
    2 Ti Dutch Buckles
    10 feet of lash it
    4 mini cord locks
10 feet of 3/32 shock cord

It'll be interesting to see everyone else's lists and ideas too, especially the winner! And I want to see the finished pics too, like Dutch said.

    Nice Dutch. Here's my project.

I would make an 11' double layer hammock with NylonD 1.0 on the outside and Argon 67 on the inside.
I would incorporate a pocket on the outside that would accomidate a beverage and a pocket on
the inside that would be able to hold my sawyer water filter to keep it from freezing in winter.
Included would be a fronkey style removeable bug net, lash-it ridgeline with organizing pouch made
from scrap nylon and netting....and party lights!
Suspension would be 7/64" continious loops on the hammock body with speed hooks 2.0 on 1/8" amsteel
leads going to black webbing and Adutchable clips.
A double ended stuff sack in green argon that could hold the hammock with bug net attached would
    round out the package.

4 yards of Saddle Brown NylonD 1.0
4 yards of Green Argon 67
    12 feet of black webbing
6 feet of 7/64" silver amsteel
    12 feet 1/8" silver amsteel
    spool of green thread
    speed hooks 2.0
8 yards of Nano no see um
    12 feet of lash it
    2 mini cord locks
    splicing needles (both sizes)
10 feet of 3/32 shock cord.
    4 sew on quilt hooks.
    1 pair adutchable clips
    Ridgeline party lights

Giving back-Get into DIY raffle, win a new Singer sewing machine and Diy supp...

I've built half a dozen or so gathered end hammocks, all thanks to the DIY pioneers who came before me here on HF. My recent fascination has been with redesigning a bridge. I want to build a bridge that will fit under my 12 foot tarp with doors shut. Zippered bug net/over cover, extra space for storage, and a ridge line. I'm already busy prototyping, but since you opened this door, I will walk right in, and give you a list of what I think would make the Dutch(ed) 'Brown Recluse Bridge':

4 yards of Saddle Brown 1.6oz NylonD - body material
2 units (50 feet) 1” Black Premium Webbing (or preferred 1/2" tubular) - hammock suspension
1 unit (25 feet) silver 7/64” amsteel blue - ridgeline
4 yards 1” black grosgrain ribbon - trim
4 yards brown or black Argon67 - top cover
4 yards black noseeum netting - bug net
1 unit Black 000 Gutterman Thread
1 unit Saddle Brown 767 Gutterman Thread (Extra Strength) - for sewing the webbing and the spreader hardware
45 feet YKK #3 zipper coil - for bug net & top cover
12 each YKK zipper coil sliders - 6 on bug net, 6 on top cover. 3 on each side.
    7’ huggers
aDutchable clipsSilver speed hook or whoopie hook amsteel suspension (7/64" or 1/8")
    silver amsteel loops
custom spreader bar hardware (see graphic)*

    spreader bars
1-2 mini cord locks - stuff sack
1 unit black lawson reflective cord - draw string
2-3 mitten hooks - ridge line connection points
6 sewn on quilt hooks - because they're awesome
2 stainless s biners - for under quilt attachment

The new sewing machine would be AWESOME! Thanks Dutch & family for the opportunity. I hope I have the opportunity to do a WIP thread for this project

Great idea Dutch. If your daughter chooses my entry - I will raffle off the sewing machine for the benefit of Hammockforums.net.

Here's my idea. Paypal prohibits raffle situations, so..... If it is OK with the admins, I'll designate a window in which folks can donate to Hammockforums. If the admins can will share that user list with me after the window closes, I'll create one raffle entry for every $10 donated to Hammockforums. User will be chosen at random by my 6 year old son who also does not like mean people.

    My project:

The ultimate tarp guy line package for my Warbonnet Superfly. This would be a truly knot-less system that is universally awesome. Here's how it works. Each guy line (6) is a Dutch Tarpworm affixed to the tarp with the shock cord loop. At the far end of the (8 foot!) length of Lash-it there is a fixed loop that contains a Dutch hook. Now you can use a stake, a tree, just about anything to tie off without using any knots. You can also pitch porch mode down a hill....or run everything low and tight....all using the same system. Perfect.

    List:

    (6) Dutch Tarpworm with 8 feet of Lash-it
Fixed loop into the end of each segment of Lash-it with....
    (6) Dutch hooks spliced into the loop mentioned above.

If my entry is chosen I will donate the sewing machine to the MAHHA raffle.

This will require some thought and research. Anyone try sewing reflectanium yet?

I'd make an asymmetrical Dual Layer hammock.

But I really want to try to make my own fronkey Style bugnet with some modifications. Even test out some different designs. My idea is a short fronkey with an shock cord closer and making it a globe shape, so no straight lines when sewing (it'll be tough but I think I can do it) the globe shape will give more volume and should be bit more roomier.

    Hammock:

22' NylonD 1.6 Navy Blue (for dual layer)
    Gutterman Thread
    Amsteel
    Splicing tool
    5' of 2" webbing
    2 whoopie hooks

    Bugnet:
40' NoSeeUm netting (enough to make 2 styles of nets)
    Shock Cord
    3 Cord Locks
Velcro (I know its not on the site)

And probably more things I don't even know about.

I will say if I don't win I'll probably buy that sewing machine and start working on a few things

Is this contest just for the hammock, or does it include the tarp as well?
