We are offering 20d silnylon in assorted colors as well as MultiCAM1.1 Sil in several cat cut hex tarps and 4S Tarp. Our tarps are edge taped and we are using a very simple yet effective guy out detail. I personally prefer the transfer of load from the guy out to the taped edge and directly through the cat cut, it adds weight but also is stronger and cleaner IMHO, I never did like the looks of a rolled hem on a cat cut. Ridge construction is a Reinforced French Seam and the simplest cleanest connection is a ring and the easiest end user replaceable ring is a split ring. This has been our ridge detail for quite a while no failures. We must be doing something different in our seam as we have not seen or heard of any failures of the ridge line connection. Our tarps have a straight cut ridge and pitch extremely well with out the need for a cat cut.

The same basic shapes and sewing techniques are all employed by cottage vendors, some overlap of details and construction will be unavoidable in products such as tarps. You have the choice of a french seam or flat feld seam for ridge line construction. If we had continued to use a flat feld seam then some would say it looks like SO & SO's tarps.

In the end quality of workmanship, customer service, and custom offerings all set the cottage vendors apart once you are looking at apples to apples, even if they are Gala Apples and Granny Smith Apples, they all taste GOOD....

Just ordered a 12' Winter Dream in the olive yellow! Hopefully it'll get here for the Tyler State Park Hang! They sure do look awesome with the taped edges.

They have been selling since Jan 1, 2015, additional colors are available by request if not listed on the website. All imaging will be replaced with launch of new website that is being designed currently. Full E-Commerce site for your shopping enjoyment should be up and running in 4-5 weeks with a new domain name as well. Stay tuned for more details to come. In the mean time orders can still be placed on our current site.

Is there a reason why you use two rings on the tie-outs? Have there been failures with one ring? Just wondering since one ring always seemed plenty strong to me.

I and a few others have actually played with using them as a cinch buckle for the guy line. Thread the guy line through them like you would a double descender ring for straps and you have a quick locking adjuster. I find I need to back it up just like you would a descender cinch buckle for webbing. I used single rings earlier in testing and did notice elongation on the ridge but not at the guy out. I string my tarps "TIGHT" and I mean "TIGHT" as they should be.
