Help on a tarp mod

I have to budget tarps so to speak. Since I'm venturing more on the diy side of things. I wants to ask for some help.

I have a chinook 12x10 and a Kelty 12.

I want to modify which ever you guys think is best Canadite to add addition tie out points to create breaks so I can have the ends closed in for doors. Need dimensions that I should come in from the ends, I have a guess but I want your thoughts.

And I want to add pull outs to it also. I am wanting external pull outs. May start with hiking pole and cordage. Then I want it to work for over the top pole mod. The type you can buy from Dutch. I have some grosgrain, I just need reinforcing material and thoughts on sealing the sewn areas.

I searched a couple ways and didn't find what I was looking for, I'm sure this has been brought up.

I did that on my DIY Blackcrow tarp. Set the loop for line to make doors back around 20 inches for this tarp. Measure yours by adding a clip or something to see how much your doors will close. Go from there.

Google "Kelty Noah's tarp 12 hammock" and you will see several images of people making doors with the included tieouts. Looks like a great budget winter tarp. I would have bought that one instead of my 9 if I had thought about it as a winter tarp.
