Exclamation Deal Alert: Cheap Sit Pad

Just saw this...still pretty new to the hammock scene, but thought I would pass along this deal. 2 CCF folding sit pads for nearly $4 shipped. Not even sure how this is possible, but I'm getting 2 while the deal is still available. I know it says random colors, but I doubt they are sending pink and purple...probably just blue, orange, grey, etc.

    Check it out:

Note that the size given is in centimeters, not inches. Unfolded these are roughly 15" x 10.5" and about 3/4 inch thick. Price I see is $2.75 apiece. Nothing about 2 for $4. Maybe the sale was one day only? Ship date is about a month or more out as well. They look okay as a sit pad, but the lack of color choice and the long shipping time may be a deal killer.

    This is EVA not CCF.

Thinking it's not the best option. The stuff will hold moisture.

They are probably going to be closer to 0.5" thick, since folded they claim the four layers together makes 4 cm (~1.5").

Great price, but don't expect much from them. My guess is you'll get a pad worth about $2.

I ordered a set anyway...I'll let you know how they turn out. Too cheap not to experiment.

You're right...didn't mean to put CCF...but EVA does not hold moisture. One of the properties of EVA is water resistance and from the title of the post along with the description it states several times that it is water proof.

Could I be mistaken. But these look really similar to what dutch offers in the type material. It is a different fold configuration obviously. Just curious if anyone else thought that?

The ones Dutch has are here. Kerco Egg Crate Folding Foldable Seat Pad Picnic Mat Cushion, set of 4 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0095KAB0U..._GRN4ub1GJA3W4

I had ordered them about a week before Dutch started selling them. They all came in black. Wasn't a colored pack as pictured.

I should mention that they also took weeks to arrive where as I have never waited more than 3 days from Dutch to my doorstep for any order.

I have a bunch of EVA mats, they do end up holding some moisture, oil and other liquids. A heat treated surface is used to mitigate the issue but with wear over time, the problem worsens. Just prefer CCF for this sort of application.

As you say, at this price, why not try. For sure post up with an update and let us know how they are working out. There's always the tyvek sleeve solution.
