    Do you Trim your Straps?

The straps that came with my Blackbird seem very long. Do you all keep them this length or trim them down for gram weeniness?

I wouldn't ... the very next time after you trim them ... the perfect hanging spot is going to be about a foot more than you have straps for!

.... at least it would be for me!

Then it's probably not the perfect hanging spot. Just sayin'.

FWIW, I cut mine down to 6' (72", 182.9cm) for use with my Whoopie Slings.

I buy webbing by the roll, so I cut all my straps.

Geesh Hooch ... short straps ... careful that you don't develop "strap envy" and go out and buy a little red sports car!

    Hmmm ... maybe that's a different subject

My BB is still in incubation. Right now, I can only say that my HH tree huggers rarely make it all the way around the big ol' Ponderosa Pines here in Northern California. Several times I've had to add line with sticks to protect the trees. Frankly, I'm looking forward to the longer straps. Besides short straps, there's another reason to look for smaller trees. It's a little scary looking at the Widow Makers way up there.

Lots of times I had a long piece of strap left over. But when those trees were big and far apart, I was glad to have the extra. Don't cut...

I know I've never cursed because a rope was to long before so, I leave straps alone too.
