Ha! I'm always modeling my hair, not sure why I didn't think of sharing before.

Bet you are glad you all did not go back up the Cabin Trail.
It was pretty easy turn to miss that one. You can go left or right around a tree, and if you go right, you don't see the junction. Anyway, no harm done, and kind of par for the course, right? And yes, I'm sooo glad we didn't have to go back up Cabin Trail. I was thinking if we run into an ice patch we may have to go back up that sucker. Glad we didn't have to.

I noticed the blue sky, it was very nice! Hate it when I miss a turn, especially when the turn was back "up" a hill. Loved the icicles! Very nice map ap you've got there. Even nicer river you've got there. Even even nicer nicer, waterfall! Well, that must have been a day hike well worth doing! Thanks for the report!

How long did it take you guys? It looks like it might be a good day hike while car camping up on the Western Rim. There's a few of those out there, though it means climbing down and back out for the most part.

Gotta stretch the IT band before the downhills. Your knees will thank you.

Great video. Love the shot from behind the icicles. Wish we had some elevation in North Texas.

Roughly 3 hours, maybe just over 3 miles distance. That includes river lollygagging, hair modeling, etc.
I originally planned this to be a summer route with some other options but the weather was too nice to wait.
The pain is mainly my thighs. Need to do this more often.

Thanks gospidey. Charlotte had no icicles, so I was surprised to see them. I shouldn't have been since its always colder in the mountains.

I tried this same loop the weekend before. Missed the same trail. Went out Babel instead. Cabin is a good place to pick up a limp!
