    Traveler or Speer?
I thought angrysparrow did a write-up on the Traveler as well as the bugnetting, but I can't find it. I love my Traveler so much that I had to separate it from the Blackbirds in the closet because they were getting jealous.

Traveler. I remember the netting, but not the Traveler. Must find!

Here is the ugly truth, you have already came to far to go back now. Once hammocking gets in your blood your going to end up buying both only to find out Hey, that one over there looks pretty cool.

I was hoping to hear from some of you guys who have owned both and see which you preferred and why.
Maybe the question should be speer vs warbonnet travelor and bug netting. The are both top loader hammocks with removeable bug netting. After seeing cannibals I think that is what I would give a try if I went away from DIY.

One of these days I need to read past the first post before saying something.

BillyBob, what I meant was, "Is there a hammock with as small a bugnet as the bugnet on the Speer?"

I don't think there's any hammock with a smaller bugnet than the Speer.

The Speer gets some complaints because the netting is so small, and because it takes some practice to get used to the hook and loop closure on it. But when you realize how little weight that the netting adds, and consider that it was probably the first commercial hammock design to feature a removable bugnet, it's not a bad option.

If a person is willing to pay for more than one hammock setup, or for a more expensive model, you can have more features. But, for the weight and the price, the Speer is a great and versatile setup.

I've never done a thorough review of the Traveler. I've answered lots of questions, and just generally enjoyed mine at every opportunity, but never have put it all into one place. Perhaps one of the other Traveler fans will beat me to it.

I did review the Traveler Net here.

Agreed, I can't think of any, either.

Yep, like any other piece of gear, it has a learning curve to it.

Once again, agreed. It's still one of my favorite hammocks. That's one I'll always hold on to for a lightweight setup.
