    Lake Jocassee Kayak/Hammock Camping

Here is a Link to pictures of my rescent hammock camping trip on Lake Jocassee, South Carolina.

Micah was in his Warbonnet Blackbird
    Keith in his Hennessy
and I was in my DIY Asym.

The water level was way down so we were not able to paddle behind the water falls, but we made it work anyway.........

    Ricegravy,
Really like the pictures. Looks like you had a good time.
That is my favorite lake in all the world. I've boated in to the Laurel Fork Falls several times, most recently in July. The water level was only about 5 ft. below full. The web says it's 18 down now.
I'm going to backpack into the falls in October and "hang out" there for a couple of days. There are three great campsites at the top of the falls.

I saw a picture of a sign at Tablerock State Park in your set. The Bobcat Creek Group site is secluded and beautiful. It's reserved for organized groups like the Boy Scouts and it's about a 20 minute walk from the parking lot. Great place to introduce young ones to backpacking.

Awesome pics. And that spider didn't look friendly. But that fish could have fed a whole family! (of Littles ) Looks like a great time.

Can you get to those campsites from the water in a kayak? How far of a hike do you think it would be?

We didn't even check out that water fall because the level was so so sooo low.

There is a short spur trail from the Foothills Trail on the left of the cove the waterfall is in. It's about a 20-30 minute hike up (all up) the trail. There will be a bridge on the right that crosses the creek. The campsites are just over the bridge. You will be at the top of the falls.
I've got some pics I'll try to find.
