This looks awesome. I'm not far from the Lone Star Trail and I want to check it out soon. Where did you get info on where to park and hike? I want to do a similar 3 day loop with some friends.

Here are links to the best two sites for info on the Lone Star Trail. They both have plenty of maps and the Lone Star Trail Hiking Club has a very detailed guide on all the features of the trail. A guide book was also written by Karen Summers. There is also a great smartphone app called Maprika that shows all of the sections of trail that you can use to navigate while on the trail.

If you'd like to camp a few days out there I'd suggest the west end because there are multiple loop trails and campsites to create several different trip itineraries. I was able to create a 30 mile loop back to the car without backtracking more than a 1/4 mile of trail.
