Talking March 7th quick saturday night camp out Southern Kettle Moraine. Come have fun!!!

So figured a quick Saturday nights night camp out is in order.
I reserved Shelter #3 in the Southern Kettle Moraine right by John Muir. There are
many access points and I will more then likely polk in from a distance.
All are welcome even if it is just to come say hi. I realize the frozen cheese was a little far for some. All are Welcome.
If you need any info post it up.
You can see the shelter on most kettle moraine maps.

I was thinking about coming in from the MUIR parking lot. Basically taking the orange trail to the two ponds and then walking due west to the shelter.
It looks about a mile. Otherwise I think it is possible to park in the old cabin parking lot on Duffin RD.

I'll be there, running out of excuses for not getting to a group hang I can bring a few different hammocks if anybody wants to just stop and check out a few options.

Have to check my map, but I'll most likely hike in from the North or the trailhead on 12 (IIRC that's around 4-1/2 miles).

Any timeframe in mind? Be there by 5ish for dinner and cocktails?? Don't think my latest batch of homebrew will be ready by then

I will be at my GFs house in Palmyra so I am literally 10mins away. I was going to head over early in the morning maybe around 10am. I plan on cutting some fire wood along the way here and there.
Ya I was going to probably grill something. Plan was to bring a grill rack and something good to sip on. I want to try dry baking something and do some exploring in the morning. I dont work monday so I will probably be there late subday.
I may try setupint my ghetto bridge hammock. You guys inspired me last group hang so I found my carving stufff in the basement and will do some whittling. Try another spoon or spatula.

Sounds good to me. I take it those two ponds will be our water source so I'll bring an ice auger.
I also plan on bringing my 4 quart pot for boiling water or a chaga pot if someone else brings a larger pot for water.

I'll be able to meet you at the trailhead at 10. Should we potluck for dinner?

The Bald Bluff parking lot is a option too. Looks to be about 2-3miles. I have walked to the shelter from there before.

I'll see if I have any homebrew left that's worthy of an event such as this

The trail splits off toward the shelter before having to walk up BB. From the parking lot to the shelter is not bad. I think homebrew is sweetening the pot.
