    Kelty Noah's tarp guy lines

I've got a 12X12 Kelty Noah's tarp and I'm looking for input on guy lines. I have two primary uses for it. First, as a tarp over a double hammock setup using Dutch's double whoopie hooks. Second, as a kitchen fly on trips where I'm not using the double setup.

I've got a spool of lash-it and am somewhat set on using separate ridgleline guy outs (as opposed to continuous ridgelines). But I'm curious what you think the lengths of those lines should be - the standard 12 feet? For the remaining guy lines, how many and what lengths? Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences.

I did 10 ft zing it on mine and have not had any issues with being able to tie it off. I always have two extra 8 ft sections in my bag just in case. No continuous ridgeline at this time because you can use the tarp in so many ways I feel it would restrict its use.

Just curious, what are you referring to saying that a CR would limit any use?

I have a noah's 16x16 that I use for car camping or short hikes with extended camps. It's big enough to create quite the kitchen/dining/living/bedroom area. That being said, it can be kind of unwieldy due to it's shear weight, so at first I used a CR and/or a couple adjustable tarp poles from REI that really helped. Although it took me a couple trips to really get my pitches right, now days (assuming we have good trees) I just use 6 separate 12ft lines of lash-it (2 for the ridgeline and 4 for the corners).
