    Jetboil ignitor broken

It's recently come to my attention that the ignitor (red button) is broken. I thought I saw a thread on WB with this problem. It's pretty new, guess I will just contact Jetboil, but for now it's off the market.

I'm pretty sure that 'broken' is the normal condition for JetBoil ignitors.

Yeah. Most of them I've seen end up breaking. If you can get over that issue, and live with using a lighter, they are still great stoves. Just consider it a highly efficient stove that doesn't have an attached igniter.

I replaced mine this spring. It's easy to replace. I get em' from REI. I keep a spare in my pack. You can still light the stove without the ignitor using a lighter. Just have to take the cup off the stove before lighting. Another tip is to make sure you have the ignitor close enough to the burner otherwise the spark won't ignite the gas. You just have to bend the wire into position.

Just sell the darn thing cheap and put the money towards a Snow Peak manual ignition stove and your choice of pot. It will be cheaper than buying two more ignitors, finally giving up on that working, and then setting it on the shelf to collect dust. Speaking of...

my experience also. The JetBoil wasn't starting off the ignitor. I use matches for a while---the hair on your fingers grows back eventually ---then examined a JetBoil with a working ignitor and saw that mine was a bit farther away from the gas release. Bent it close again, and Swoosh! JetBoil ignites again.

Then after you get it bent just right, it fractures! I love the Jetboil concept, wish they would improve a few things.

Mine still works but doesn't get the use it once did. I like burning wood and meths now

Dedicated jetboil user here. To darn convenient minus the poor ignition. Matches are always in my pack anyway so I just use those. Best stove I've ever owned as far as my needs go.
